Across the globe more
people now have access to HIV testing in great dimension unlike what it used to
be in 30 years ago. However, a larger percentage of people living with HIV
remains undiagnosed. Our programs are developed to tackle and provide solution in some of these challenging areas.
Health
is the total wellbeing of anyone, including but not limited to physical, mental
and finances. So, our understanding is that we need to help our target
community with their total wellbeing.
PATHIV (Prevention Against HI-Virus)
Though
new cases are trending down but there are still majority that are undiagnosed. And
with Baltimore still among the top 10 cities with HIV population, sensitization
cannot be overemphasized. Even with the numbers of NGO’s out there, sensitization
is on the low when it comes to HIV, especially among the younger age. This
virus if left untreated can lead to AIDS which reduces the immune capacity of
affected individuals and eventually causes a reduction in life expectancy.
So,
we provide constant awareness and counseling which are some of the
tools/resources that are needed to prevent individuals from contracting and
further spread of the deadly virus.
Case Management
CDC
data showed that lower number of PrEP candidates are receiving prophylaxis
treatment. Also, given to the rise in HIV among the younger and minority
groups, we help to improve PrEP implementation by enabling easy access to PrEP.
